Does the “new earth” conflict with God’s everlasting promise to Abraham?

Every Friday, I answer a common question related to the end times. Today’s is about Abraham’s promise and God’s creation of a “new earth.”

Question:

I’ve heard you say that you think God will replace the earth with an entirely different planet after the Millennium. In Genesis 17:8, God promised the land to Abraham and his descendants for an everlasting possession. In light of your belief about a different planet, how do you respond to this promise from God?
