War Weary?

Everyone in Israel is weary. Sirens several times a day, including the middle of the night, has resulted in sleep deprivation combined with a constant state of expectation for the next volley of missiles from Iran. Now, in the north, also from Hezbollah.

We hear reports that Iran’s arsenal and launchers have been depleted by as much as 75 percent. But the missiles keep coming, nonetheless. Since the war began almost two weeks ago, those of us in Jerusalem South have been in shelters for a total of 8 hours and 50 minutes. In Tel Aviv, they have been in them for a total 22 hours and 12 minutes.

Not surprisingly, even friends around the world who closely follow events in our neighborhood are weary, news weary. All they ever hear from us is… attacked again.

How can we cope? As you will see in the first story of the week below, there are several practical tips. Mostly, though, the advice is to hang in there. Persevere. It won’t last forever.
