Tisha B’Av: Thousands Worship on Temple Mount

In another major Temple Mount story, thousands of Jewish worshippers ascended the Temple Mount complex this weekend, joining Israeli’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in prayer and worship. Ben-Gvir led the gathering, marking the first time a government official has led Jewish prayers and singing in the holy site.

A record 3,527 Jewish worshippers worshipped alongside him, openly praying and singing. Police were present but did not intervene, which is a major shift from past enforcement at the site. In previous years, Jews have been forbidden from praying there.

This is significant because the site is administered by Muslims and houses the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. It’s one of the most sensitive, contested places in the Middle East. Tensions flare there between Muslims and Jews regularly.

It’s also Ground Zero for the fulfillment of end-times prophecy—and Jewish worship at this sacred location must resume before the Temple is rebuilt, according to the end-times timeline.
