The Significance of Last Night’s Eclipse

If you were up late last night or awake early this morning, you may have had the opportunity to see a significant blood moon and lunar eclipse. In fact, it represented the longest partial lunar eclipse of this century and, according to NASA, the longest one in nearly 600 years. The last eclipse of this length was in the year 1440. The next one won’t come around until the year 2669.

The eclipse was visible last night across all of the United States.
