UN Commission: Israel is Committing “Genocide”
In more evidence that the world is lining up against Israel, an Independent Commission of Inquiry by the United Nations, led by former UN human rights chief Navi Pillay, concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. It has issued a 72-page legal analysis documenting the deaths of 64,000 people and calling on the international community to stop giving weapons to Israel and otherwise punish those responsible for the killing:
“The Commission finds that Israel is responsible for the commission of genocide in Gaza,” said Pillay, the commission chair. “It is clear that there is an intent to destroy the Palestinians in Gaza through acts that meet the criteria set forth in the Genocide Convention.”
Israel rejected the report as “distorted and false.”
